Why Wear Hope Wristbands

Hope wristbands help to draw attention to many different organizations and human conditions.

The first of these hope bracelets was a bright yellow bracelet worn by Lance Armstrong, a cancer survivor, when he raced in the Tour de France.

Since then hope bracelets have emerged in many different colors, each denoting a specific form of cancer or another deadly disease that afflicts human beings.

Why do people wear them?

Since the development of the cancer bracelet, many other organizations have come out with bracelets of their own, such as bracelets to support the Tsunami Relief.

There are various reasons why people wear these bracelets, which include:

  • To show that they gave to a particular organization
  • To show that he/she is a cancer survivor
  • To encourage others to donate to a worthy cause

Most Popular Symbol of Hope

The bracelets for Multiple Sclerosis have the word "hope" written on one side and are a new nationwide campaign to make this condition more visible to the public. The other side of the bracelet has nationalmssociety.org written on the other side.

These bracelets are red in an effort to make them more visible to the public as the desire and hope of the organization is to increase public awareness of the need for fund–raising initiatives. Each bracelet costs $1.00 and is available as an adult or youth size.

In addition to hope bracelets and wristbands, most organizations also have ribbons and pins that you can wear on the outside of your jacket.

Anyone who doesn't feel comfortable wearing a rubber bracelet would also show his/her support by purchasing one of these. They are very popular with people of all ages and have led to a drastic increase in the amount of finds that charitable organizations have at their disposal.
